The Presidential House said it has no responsibility on the drafting of the bill that seeks to prevent legislators from modifying the bills sent to the Congress by the Executive Power.
This Tuesday, through a communication sent by the press office, the Minister of the Presidency, Rodolfo Piza, said that this approach is part of a draft that was worked on by the commission created by the government to discuss the reforms of the State and that they are not endorsed by the Executive Power.
The declaration of the hierarch came after several legislators and former legislators criticized this proposal, which was deemed “anti-democratic.”
The motions presented tried to gather the ideas that were most discussed within the Commission and that were not incorporated into the project of the legislators. These aim to promote a democratic discussion on different alternatives based on the experiences of democratic countries on legislative procedures to strengthen democratic governance. They do not necessarily represent or are expressly endorsed by the Executive Power,”
