President calls for resignation of BCR executives who denounced the cementazo

President Luis Guillermo Solís asked the members of the Board of Directors of the BCR, including those who have denounced and investigated the case of the cement, to resign. In announcing the issue, he assured that his government is committed to transparency and that the dismissal of this board will not affect the investigations that are carried out.

They are Francisco Molina, Monica Segnini, Evita Arguedas, Alberto Raven and Gustavo Arias. With them, he also requested the resignation of Paola Mora and Ronald Solís, who at all times have defended the Chinese cement loan and BCR’s manager Mario Barrenechea, who is being investigated for alleged irregularities in the granting of this loan.

On September 26th the Board of Directors should determine whether or not to extend the suspension of Barrenechea, who was appointed in his position at the request of the Presidential House.

Four of the seven board members Solis asked to resign were named by this government: Ronald Solis, Paola Mora, Gustavo Arias and Francisco Molina.
