President inspects area affected by Wednesday’s earthquake

On Saturday, President Luis Guillermo Solís visited the cantons of Turrialba and Alvarado in Cartago to inspect some works and also observe the effects of last Wednesday’s quake.

Along with the First Lady, Mercedes Peñas and the mayors of both cantons, the president reviewed the works carried out in the Turrialba River in Capellades sector.

In addition, they made an inspection on the infrastructure damaged by the 5.3 degrees earthquake that struck the country last November 30th at about 6:30 p.m.

The quake caused damage to some houses, according to neighbors and authorities.

On Monday, the President will visit Upala, Bagaces and La Cruz de Guanacaste, on Tuesday he will go to the South Zone and on Wednesday he will be in the Caribbean, in the sector of Las Barras.
