President promises innovative plans to encourage household consumption

The Executive Branch prepares a series of bills and presidential guidelines that will seek to alleviate the indebtedness of Costa Rican families and encourage household consumption.

The approaches are being reviewed by the Presidency and the Ministry of Planning, before they are sent to Congress and they are made known to the public, said the president, Carlos Alvarado.

The President said the proposals will be announced this October, on a date he did not specify. Alvarado only said that, unlike other announcements made months and weeks ago by the government, these will be innovative.

On September 6th, the government presented a plan to boost the economy, however, the proposal was criticized for not containing new elements.
