President Solís: “discussions on taxes and public employment will be difficult”

According to president Luis Guillermo Solís, discussions on public employment projects, income tax and VAT convened by the Government for extraordinary sessions in Congress will be difficult and tense.

However, he declared that they will continue working hard so the Legislative Assembly starts the projects because they are necessary for the country’s wellbeing.

The tax reform has been a struggle that the President has faced for months. He insists that Costa Rica’s future depends on taxes.

Several fractions in the Assembly have been clear and they think that before talking about taxes, other issues must be discussed, such as expenditure control.
