Food and gasoline prices dropped in September

A reduction in food and gasoline prices influenced over the Consumer Price Index (CPI), which produced a negative variation of -0.47% in September, so the accumulated inflation for the year reached 0.49%, the second lowest rate in the last 5 years.

Among the goods that had the greater price decline there are onions, tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, sweet peppers, rice and fish fillets. Furthermore, price of airline tickets also dropped.

On the other hand, cars, water service and tour packages prices went up, but in a low rate.

At the moment, the inflation is far from the range targeted by The Central Bank in the long term, which would be near 3%.
