Productive sector celebrates dual education approval

On Monday night, the law that will regulate dual education from now on, which has been celebrated by the country’s productive sector, was approved in the second reading.

According to various business chambers, this is an action in the right direction to contribute to the generation of employment in the country, especially when unemployment reached 11.9% according to the latest INEC survey.

While it is true that education and dual training are not the only factor that will solve the country’s unemployment problem, it is a very powerful weapon to provide our youth and workers in general, an educational system that allows their rapid labor insertion to the dynamic and changing market needs. The Chamber of Industries of Costa Rica (ICRC) has supported this project for several years,”

said Enrique Egloff, president of the ICRC.

For the Costa Rican North American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham), dual education represents a clear evolution of the education system and the creation of a platform for thousands of young people to voluntarily access a new mode of education and then be able to enter the labor market.

We call on society to understand this modality as a tool that will help fight the worrying increase in unemployment, whose indicator is already close to 12%. In addition, it will guarantee the training of a greater number of technicians in strategic areas, with the profile demanded by companies, adding value to the environment so that Costa Rica is a more attractive destination for the development of productive activities,”

commented Elías Soley, president of AmCham.

For the Chamber of Foreign Trade (Crecex), these initiatives reduce attrition and inequality, and undoubtedly become another tool when looking for work.
