RECOPE future will be decided in a referendum

Movimiento Libertario celebrated the decision of the Supreme Electoral Count (TSE) to authorize the collection of signatures to convene a referendum to decide Costa Rican Oil Refinery (RECOPE) future.

According to libertarians, the proposal to convene a popular consultation is based on a project presented by that political group, whose objective is to open the monopoly of RECOPE, to promote competition and benefit Costa Ricans.

Movimiento Libertario has been the only political party promoting the opening of all markets and competition. We fight both public and private monopolies, as well as a great number of monopolistic practices that exist in our country,

declared the party in a statement.

Costa Ricans are fed up with the bad service provided by this state monopoly, which has always blamed its clients for its bad business decisions, the privileges of its employees, the poor quality and the small variety of its products in the market. It is time we open RECOPE monopoly,

claimed legislator Otto Guevara.
