Residents of Cartago will protest against highway conditions

Tired of the abandonment conditions of the Florencio del Castillo highway and roads in the center of the province, people from Cartago will now protest against the government on Thursday.

Legislator Mario Redondo, from the Christian Democratic Alliance, confirmed that the demonstration will take place that day and that it will be on the road that links San José and Cartago, although he clarified that they will not block the transit.

The legislator accused the Government of breaking a set of commitments signed by the Presidential House on December 11th as defining the financing route to expand and conclude the Florencio del Castillo highway and improve access to Taras and La Lima.

Redondo said that the residents of the area are also annoyed by the holes in various sections of the highway and by the poor condition of the roads in the center of the city.

There is not the slightest follow up to the commitments. There is a huge oversight and one feels that things are going to stay the way they are,”

said Redondo.
