Salary increase approved for the judiciary

On Monday, the magistrates of the Full Court approved a salary increase of ₡4 thousand for the workers of the Judiciary.

The agreement provides that the cost of living adjustment will be calculated for each judicial, according to the date of admission to the institution , in accordance with the effective date of Law 9635.

In the resolution, it was determined that Law 9635 did not repeal or modify the provisions of the Statute of Judicial Service, Law of Wages and Organic Law of the Judicial Power that govern the matter of employment, so that they remain in force.

The point value is adjusted per career in the sum of 13 colones. In addition, it is provided that

… the Directorate of Human Management, in coordination with the Directorate of Information Technology and the Legal Directorate, in accordance with article 173 of the Labor Code, shall proceed to identify and recover any extra sum, which may be generated by payment of the respective remuneration to the Servants of the Judiciary,”

The decision excludes magistrates and staff whose gross salary is equal to or greater than ₡4 million.
