Scam with calls on behalf of INS

The National Insurance Institute (INS) warned on Tuesday about scams that are made on behalf of the entity.

According to representatives of several private clinics and hospitals, which are health providers from the INS, the caller tells them that there are problems with the system and because of that they lost all the information, so they require patients’ data again,”

said the institute.

There are also reports of calls and emails to insurance agents, where they are told that due to problems with the system, their fees cannot be paid and therefore they need to give information again.

The Superintendence of Insurance (SUG) warned the National Insurance Institute about cases of people who are posing as officials of the supervisory body to require information from insurance companies on bank accounts, legal identity and other confidential data, to allegedly update the their systems,”

says the information.

The entity is requesting caution from customers and asks them to not provide personal information or bank account numbers, let alone over the phone.

If possible, it is good to write down the phone number from which scammers are trying to obtain information to file a judicial complaint.
