The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Uruguayan Luis Almagro, will visit Costa Rica again to participate in the “High Level Forum on the Flows of Migrants in an Irregular Migratory Situation in the Americas,” to be held from September 12th to 13th.

The objective of theforum, which will include the participation of Chancellor Manuel González, as well as the Deputy Director General of the World Organization of Migration, Laura Thompson, and high authorities of other countries, is to provide a space for the exchange of experiences and good practices, to identify and analyze migration challenges and opportunities.

Only the region can fulfill the responsibility to protect the life, well-being and dignity of migrants, and to address the migration phenomenon in all its aspects: humanitarian and developmental, among others,”

said the Costa Rican Foreign Minister.

Almagro will be in the main event at the San José Palacio Hotel on Tuesday, where he will present a report on the subject in the morning.
