SENASA to verify complaints against Territory of Zaguates

The National Animal Health Service (SENASA), ruled out the intervention in the animal shelter Territory of Zaguates, but assured they have received complaints against it.

According to Bernando Jaén, director of SENASA, they cannot talk about an intervention until they visit the site.

It is not that it will be intervened, but like any animal management establishment they have to be regulated. Eventually we will be scheduling an inspection tour, to this and other places to verify the complaints and the conditions of the animals,”

said Jaén.

The complaints mainly concern animal health. For example, records show that dogs that have been adopted in this shelter, soon die of an infectious contagious disease known as distemper.

The shelter indicated through its Facebook page, that although the conditions of the shelter are not ideal, this is due to the lack of economic resources, not due to a lack of love.
