Solís backs decision of BCR’s board on complaint over cementazo

President Luis Guillermo Solís said he will support the decisions made by the Board of Directors of the Bank of Costa Rica (BCR), regarding whether or not to file a claim for civil damages as an affected party of the cementazo.

The financial institution could be suffering patrimonial damage in the absence of payment. Bolaños is serving three months of preventive custody for embezzlement and other crimes.

Solís and the Minister of the Presidency, Sergio Alfaro, have met with the board in recent weeks. It was rumored they had asked the directors not to file a complaint.

According to the president, the board is analyzing the possibility of reporting the situation. The President will respect what they decide to do.
