Some schools are still being used as shelters

Some schools are still being used as shelters in the wake of Hurricane Otto, so the Ministry of Public Education (MEP) is looking for ways to open them to finish the school year.

According to minister Martha Mora, children have the right to finish the school year and get graduated.

It is very important that small schools open their doors, children need to feel that the year ends normally to get ready for next year, so that the illusion is not lost,

declared the minister.

So far, there are 2,518 people in 34 shelters, most of them in Upala.
