State of National Emergency for the whole country

President Luis Guillermo Solís declared a National Emergency for the entire Costa Rican territory due to the rains that are affecting the country.

In addition, the entire public sector had the day off this Thursday.

Rains were increased by tropical storm Nate that was created in the Caribbean Sea and have caused hundreds of floods, landslides and river overflows.

The Pacific region is the most affected area. Guanacaste has floods and landslides in many sectors. In addition, the Central Valley is also very affected.

The Ministry of Public Education decided to suspend lessons on Thursday and Friday.
