Strike will affect pharmaceutical service in health area of Alajuela

Officials from the pharmaceutical service in the health area of Alajuela claim that they need more staff, because they cannot cope with more than 500 daily customers. The officials also claim their requests are not heard.

As a result the Pharmaceutical Service of the Health Area in Alajuela will go on a strike onTuesday.

Carlos Báez, Secretary of conflicts in the National Union of Employees of the Fund (UNDECA), explained that the strike will start at 7:00 a.m. and that only emergency cases would be addressed.

According to Báez, between 500 and 600 patients might be affected.
