Sunday’s earthquake claimed three victims

Three people died after the strong earthquake that shook the national territory on Sunday night in Jacó, Garabito.

Carlos Hidalgo, spokesman of the Ministry of Public Security (MSP) reported that the last confirmed deceased was a 25-year-old surnamed Zúñiga Chinchilla, who died in Coronado. The man was a resident of Cascajal de Coronado and according to his sister, he was transferred in a private vehicle to the medical center of the town.

The movement occurred at 8:28 p.m. and after the main event there were at least seven aftershocks. The epicenter was located in Jacó, Garabito at a depth of 10 kilometers.

In addition to Zúñiga, a woman and a man died, also due to a cardiac arrest: José Alberto Rodríguez (55 years old) and Teresa Viales Navarro (56 years old).
