Supreme Court decides it won’t request resignation of Attorney General

The magistrates of the Supreme Court of Justice desisted from requesting the resignation of Attorney General, Jorge Chavarría Guzmán .

This possibility was handled unofficially in the last hours. However, it was discarded after a meeting held Monday, privately.

The information was confirmed by Carlos Chinchilla, president of the Supreme Court of Justice.

At the meeting there were a group of magistrates, called directly by Chinchilla. The meeting was held behind closed doors, when usually the full court would sit openly.

The meeting was convened since September 21st, with the intention of complying with a request of the First Chamber, to discuss the elaboration of ethical rules, applicable to the Court.

Since September 18th, the Presidency of the Supreme Court of Justice ordered an administrative case to be opened on the Judicial Inspection, for its actions in the case of cementazo and Crucitas.
