Surveillance cameras will be installed in Desamparados

The first stage of a project carried out by the Municipality of Desamparados and the Public Service Company of Heredia is about to begin with the placing of 40 cameras at strategic points. The complete project includes the installation of a total of 200 surveillance cameras.

Mayor Gilberth Jiménez explained that the cameras may alert about incidents in a timely manner.

The strategic points were chosen taking into consideration the levels of violence, theft, robbery on very crowded public areas in the most populous county in Costa Rica, with 330,000 inhabitants. This project represents an investment of 45 million colones.

Additionally, they are studying the installation of modern parking meters to control the authorized parking areas and generate better earnings.
