Tamarindo protested about crocodiles

Surfing Nation Magazine-Fabián Sánchez

Tamarindo’s surfer population protested against the presence of crocodiles with surfboards filled “DANGER!” messages.

As reported by Surfing Nation magazine, the rally was held on Saturday with the aim of making a call to the authorities to find a solution to the problem, after last week’s attack on a foreigner.

With the hashtag #SOSTamarindo and pretending to be filled with blood, protesters complained about the presence of reptiles in the estuary, because they were used to being fed to attract more tourists.

According to Surfing Nation, after the demonstration, representatives of the Guanacaste Chamber of Tourism, Development Association of Tamarindo, the security forces, boaters and surfers had a meeting with the managers of Parque Marino Las Baulas, to talk about the next steps.

There they were informed that the National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC) will begin to solve the problem.
