Taxi drivers want compensation for 40 thousand families

It’s time for the taxi driver sector to sue the government for the breach of this contract. We are handling the idea of asking for that compensation for more than 40 taxi driver families that are being ruined by these platforms.”

This was expressed by Alexis Retana, representative of taxi drivers in Costa Rica, on the show Enfoques.

This Monday, Retana and Rubén Vargas, representatives of taxi drivers, together with César Blasco, from the Beego transport application, talked about the government’s project that aims to regulate this type of platform.

According to Retana, the government failed to comply with the concession granted to the taxi drivers and “failed to comply with the contract.”

Rubén Vargas, leader of taxi drivers, ensures that the damage is not only done, but will continue to be generated by the loss of customers. He indicated that the monthly losses for the union after the entry of these platforms amounts to 22 billion colones per month.
