Works on the bridge over Virilla River are causing traffic jams on General Cañas highway and they are affecting the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS).
A a result, from February 1st to March 31st, teleworking and other mechanisms will be implemented in some service networks of the CCSS, although the institution affirms that the assistance will not be affected.
Both telework and hourly adaptability will apply in some jobs, whose functions are suitable to use this modality and do not directly affect the provision of health services.
The measure will not apply to medical centers and units that are associated with the direct provision of health services.
According to Rónald Lacayo, administrative manager of the CCSS, the measure will be temporarily used in the following cantons:
-San José: San José Centro, Escazú, Aserrí, Mora, Goicoechea, Santa Ana, Alajuelita, Vásquez de Coronado, Tibás, Moravia, Montes de Oca and Curridabat.
-Alajuela: Alajuela Centro, Poás and Atenas.
-Cartago: Cartago Centro, Paraíso, La Unión, Alvarado, Oreamuno and El Guarco.
-Heredia: Heredia Centro, Barva, Santo Domingo, Santa Bárbara, San Rafael, San Isidro, Belén, Flores and San Pablo.
The deadline will depend on the completion of the works.
