Tenorio Volcano National Park is now open to the public

After the seismic swarm that affected Guanacaste last Tuesday, the authorities reported on Sunday that Tenorio Volcano National Park had been reopened.

The main attraction of this park is Río Celeste, which receives hundreds of tourists every year and has been closed these days.

We reopened the mysteries of Tenorio trail to enjoy the turquoise color of the river. They should keep in mind that if a new earthquake occurs during the day, we will close and evacuate the visitors,”

informed the park’s representatives through their Facebook profile.

During the last few days, the Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica (OVSICORI) has recorded a large number of earthquakes whose epicenters have occurred in the province of Guanacaste.

Neighbors of Tilarán, Cañas, Nuevo Arenal and Guatuso have felt tremors that -in their majority- did not exceed five degrees of magnitude.
