The Congress passed the extraordinary budget to repair homes affected by hurricane Otto

The Congress passed in second reading the extraordinary budget that includes 2 billion colones from the Joint Institute for Social Aid (IMAS) in order to repair homes damaged by Hurricane Otto.

The spending plan amounts to ¢ 85 billion and it includes line items for the ministries of Foreign Affairs, Agriculture, Public Works and Transport, as well as Labor and Justice.

It also includes ¢ 2,422 million for the Guanacaste’s Water Supply Integral Program (PIAGG), ¢ 479 million for prison construction, $ 420 million for the construction of new hospitals in Cartago, Turrialba and Golfito and ¢ 14,100 million for the Governing Council from the Banking System for Development, which will allow to finance and boost productive projects.
