The current tax and public employment bills will not longer be read at the National Assembly

The Government will remove the tax bill, as well as the public employment bill, which aims to reduce salary bonuses, from the extraordinary sessions of the Legislative Assembly.

So was announced by minister of the Presidency Sergio Alfaro, who made it clear that they will include the new proposals, which will count on the Legislative analysis to determine if they are viable.

The Executive’s proposal did not have the 38 legislators’ support, which is the minimum required to be approved. This situation forced the Executive to redirect the objective and to lower the VAT percentage to establish a new rearrangement to the projects.

Legislators will have a week to analyze the proposal’s viability and support.
