The DEA and the DIJIN worked together to seize 756 kilos of cocaine

The Colombian Criminal Investigation Bureau (known as DIJIN) confirmed the seizure of 756 kilos of cocaine that were transported from the municipality of Tumaco to Costa Rica.

The operation, developed at 20 nautical miles from the country, was conducted with the Costa Rican National Coast Guard (SNG) and the United States Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).

The DIJIN confirmed the operation through its website. However, it did not specify the exact date of the seizure. Two Colombians and one Ecuadorian were captured. They were transporting the drug from Tumaco to Central America.

According to the entity, the narcotics were transported in speedboats. In addition, similar operations were carried out in Mexico and El Salvador.

In Mexican waters, authorities seized 2.8 tons of cocaine that were mobilized in two boats between Colombia and Mexico . Two Mexicans and three Ecuadorians were captured. The shipment belonged to a drug trafficking network made up of Colombian, Ecuadorian, Guatemalan and Mexican citizens.

During the third intervention near the Salvadoran coast, 382 kilos of cocaine were seized. The shipment was heading towards the USA through Guatemala.
