The difference between the new bridge’s public tenders is up to 5 billion colones

Four companies presented to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MOPT) their offers to build the new bridge over the Virilla River, on route 32.

According to data from the Ministry, the cost among these offers range up to 5 billion colones.

This new bridge, located near Ricardo Saprissa stadium, will have 3, 3.60-meters lanes, it will also have a 285-meter length and the separation between the current bridge and the new bridge will be 5.50 meters.

According to Oldemar Sagot, engineer from the Executing Unit of the National Road Council, the construction works for this project and the new two-lane, Santa Ana-Belén bridge on route 147, will start in January if there are no appeals that could delay the processes.

The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) was contracted by the Council to manage and supervise the design and construction of these two structures.
