the International Congress of Technological Innovation 2016 will take place on October 5th

Costa Rica will host the International Congress of Technological Innovation 2016 (CIIT), a regional meeting that will gather government representatives and leading global manufacturers. The congress aims to present major advances in areas such as Cloud Computing, Computer Security, Internet of Things, Telecommunications, Electronic Government, Digital Cities and others.

The event, to be held on October 5th at the Cocori Ballroom of DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Cariari, intends to create a space to exchange information prospects at global, regional and local levels in strategic, technological areas.

CIIT will start with a predictive analysis by economist José Luis Arce, from Economic and Financial Advisers Firm (CEFSA). It will be entitled “Costa Rica and the World: Current Economic Situation and Prospects 2017”.

The congress also includes a discussion called “Telecommunications, Challenges and Opportunities”, which will count on the participation of Alexander Mora, from Foreign Trade Ministry, and Marcelo Jenkins, from Science, Technology and Telecommunications Ministry, as well as Jaime Palermo, Telecommunications Manager of ICE Group, and Ronald Jiménez, former president of the National Union of Chambers and Associations of Private Enterprises (UCCAEP).

This panel is particularly relevant at a time when the country is growing in great expectations about its potential to become a regional technology hub and a global Cloud provider.

CIIT will include a second panel on Digital Government: participants will debate about the progress made by the country’s digital governance and what changes should be implemented to improve.

During the Congress, other important talks will take place. They will be held by exhibitors and international, national and regional analysts, who will provide their opinions on the current state, prospects, challenges and opportunities that the country faces in the technologic area.
