The National Plan for Community Development was presented

As part of the seventh National Congress of Community Development Associations, community representatives from across the country presented the National Plan for Community Development, which will be in effect from 2016 to 2020.

President Luis Guillermo Solis as well as representatives from several sectors participated in the activity.

Alberto Salazar, president of the National Confederation of Development (CONADECO) expressed that this is a national achievement and it integrates regional plans and projects of national interest.

We’ve been able to create synergies, it’s been possible to make visible the Costa Rican community movement and build a new vision for development. There is a communal movement interested in culture, sports, recreation, children, youth, the environment and the economic and social development of our country,

stated Salazar.

To achieve this plan, places like Liberia, Nicoya, San Ramón, Heredia, Guápiles, Talamanca, Ciudad Neilly, San Vito, Puntarenas, Pérez Zeledón, San José, Cártago and Ciudad Quesada were visited.

There are proposals per each area, thus each regional plan includes an average of 25 projects to be implemented by 2020. Proposals aim to reach the economic and social development. They also intend to approach areas such as culture, sport, recreation, environment and infrastructure.
