The Supermoon made Costa Ricans stay awake.
Families, groups of friends and the occasional wedding couple took the opportunity to see this phenomenon, which will not be repeated until November, 2034.
A clear example of this was the route that leads to the Irazú volcano, Cartago. By midnight, the streets were full of cars and motorcycles. People lay on the grass with food and a cup of coffee to see one of the largest moons since 1948.
Regardless the sky, which was clouded from time to time, people were waiting for the right moment to take a ‘selfie’ with the moon in the background. However, in most cases, it was only a small light.
It was also a good opportunity for photography and astronomy fans to have a good time and enjoy the view.
It is not a matter of size, it is just that the Moon can be better observed,
muttered Edgar Jiménez, who had his eye glued to a giant telescope on the slopes of Irazú.
