Pavas Criminal Court started the trial against a doctor surnamed Vargas Scott, accused by an former model of supposedly deforming her buttocks through a failed aesthetic treatment.

Vargas Scott was charged with negligent injuries and private document forgery.

The case transcended in early 2011, when former model Garcia declared that she paid more than 2,000,000 colones for an aesthetic surgery on her gluteus. However, months later she denounced a series of health complications that resulted in physical injuries that put her life at life.

The woman stated that she underwent an aesthetic procedure in order to improve her figure, instead, she had health problems since the doctor would have injected a PMMA biopolymer (liquid silicone).

In 2013, Vargas denied the respective accusations. On January 10th, 2013, at a press conference, he said that the patient was discharged in perfect condition, as stated in her file. In addition, she then presented photographs of scars that were not made by him.

It should be noted that in 2013, in a full legal dispute, the Association of Plastic Surgeons reported that Vargas Scott is a general practitioner and did not hold a degree that would accredit him as a plastic surgeon.
