There are two apps that will help you learn maths!

Two young people created two applications that make up the contents of the curriculum from the Ministry of Public Education (MEP), so that it can help  Costa Rican children and teenagers to learn math.

They participated in Movistar contest and they won $ 10,000 for their applications: “Play Math” and “Fermapp”.

The jury evaluated aspects such as innovation, integration and relevance of the proposal regarding the MEP curricula and the potential to implement the ideas.

The panel of judges was composed by Movistar representatives, Telefonica Foundation, the Department of Technology Resources from the MEP, Omar Dengo Foundation and Quirós Tanzi Foundation.

“Play Math” is an application that aims to help children to perform mathematical calculations. With it, the student practices different mathematical operations in three different environments: water world, earth world and game board.

“Fermapp” won in the high school category and contemplates four axes: the review of the subject with visual exercises; The interaction with the studied concepts; videos that support the learning process and short tests, that allow to validate the acquired knowledge and to determine the areas that must be reinforced.
