These areas will be affected by the ashfall

According to the dispersion model from the Volcanological Observatory of Costa Rica (OVSICORI), the ashfall will especially affect the province of Cartago in the areas of Pacayas, Cachí, Orosi, Cervantes, Capellades, Turrialba, La Suiza, Pejibaye, La Orieta, Cartago, Paraiso, Cot, Llano Grande, Chicuá, San Rafael de Oreamuno, Raicero, Finca La Central, Tajo, among other places.

This model is based on meteorological values reported by the National Meteorological Institute (IMN) and topography of Costa Rica, and calculates the dispersion (up to 50 km around the volcano) of gases and particles emitted by the Turrialba from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. on Monday.

On Sunday, the OVSICORI reported that the volcano ash columns reached up to 700 meters high from the crater.
