Three thousand meters of pipe to be replaced in downtown Heredia

In the coming weeks, the residents of downtown Heredia will struggle with construction works in the street due to the replacement of 3,000 meters of sanitary pipes.

The works will be concentrated in the area of Fatima de Heredia, where 300 meters of pipes have already been replaced.

The reason for the change is that the pipes in several areas of the center of the province are between 60 and 70 years old and are made of a material known as alcarraza, which causes its deterioration and leakage of residual water.

The replacement works are under the responsibility of the Public Services Company of Heredia (ESPH). The system is being replaced by eight-inch Novafort tubes, which improves the collection of these pipes because the material is much more and allows a better flow of wastewater.

Once completed the work in each of the areas, it will be covered with a base and then the paving work will be ready in about two weeks.
