Although Costa Rica does not have an elected president for the period 2014 – 2018, the Foreign Ministry is already working to plan the transfer of power, to be held on May 8th. Challenges for this transfer will be the delay caused by the runoff election and the coming Easter week. The legislature has budgeted ¢150 million ($289,575) for the one day event, which will be attended by foreign dignitaries and international organizations.
