Tourists were rescued from sinking boat near San Lucas

A video published on the Facebook site Noticias del Puerto shows moments of tension and despair, as people went to help a group of tourists who were on board of a sinking boat near San Lucas Island on Saturday at about 3 p.m.

A fishing boat and a tourist boat were the first to approach the place where the first boat began to sink and then overturned. There were 12 victims, but all of them survived.

Some of the people in the tourist boat argued heatedly while others shouted to sit down. While that happened, the picture shows the boat overturning and several people floating in the water, waiting for the Naval Unit to pull them out of the sea.

The authorities confirmed that everyone survived and that they were wearing lifejackets.
