Trade mission to Israel will be in motion by early 2017

The Chamber of Importers (CRECEX) and the Embassy of Israel are organizing a rapprochement between Israeli businessmen and Costa Ricans to increase the trade between the two countries, and Costa Rica is coordinating a mission to visit them in the first months of 2017.

CRECEX highlights the opportunities for food products with high added value and clean technologies, etc.

According to official data supplied by the Foreign Trade Promoter (PROCOMER) and the Directorate General of Customs, domestic exports to that country have been increasing, from $ 7.02 million in 2012 to $ 8.79 billion in 2015.

The imports from Israel in the same period increased too, from $ 32.85 million to $ 41.12 million.

The most common goods exported from Costa Rica to Israel are coffee, pineapples and concentrated fruit juice, among others; while herbicides, insecticides for agricultural use and printed plastic plates, sheets and strips, are the most common good imported from Israel.

In addition, PROCOMER opened this month in the city of Tel Aviv a trade promotion office that would help with business expansion.
