Train amputates man’s legs in Calle Blancos

At 5:40 a.m. on Monday, a man was hit by the train in El Progreso neighborhood in Calle Blancos.

Jorge Jiménez, from the Red Cross monitoring center, said that the subject suffered the amputation of his legs and was transferred in delicate conditions to the Calderón Guardia Hospital.

Ileana Espinoza, from the Fire Department, commented that the accident occurred specifically behind the Motorola Company.

Apparently, the victim remained pressed under the train for a few minutes. At the moment the identity and the causes of the accident are unknown.
