Turrialba volcano erupted again

At about 9:00 pm on Sunday, Turrialba volcano erupted again. It lasted until midnight.

Eliecer Duarte, volcanologist at the Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica (OVSICORI) declared that the volcanic activity started at 9:10 pm and it is unknown the ash colum’s height. However, the eruption had a great magnitude.

Authorities determined that the ash fall reached areas such as Santa Bárbara, San Isidro, Santo Domingo de Heredia, Braulio Carrillo National Park and Coronado. In Addition, some residents from Moravia declared that ashes were falling over their community.
