According to the latest report from the National Emergency Commission (CNE), the continuous seismic tremor signal, accompanied by emanations of ash, gas and rock fragments, which started on September 26th at 12:42 noon, continued on September 27th at Turrialba volcano.
The tremor shows significant variations: it goes from almost null values, where only micro seismic noise is recorded, to values that considerably exceed the average. However, the tremor was recorded continuously for more than 29 hours, accompanied by release of ash and gas,
informed the CNE.
According to authorities, during September 27th, the ash and gas column fluctuated from 300 to 2,000 meters above the summit of the volcano (3,640-5,340 meters above sea level).
