Two legislators delay the final report of the Attorney General’s office on the case against Solís

Two legislators delay the final report of the Special Legislative Commission that investigated the case of the report of the Public Ethics Office (PEP) where the then president of the Republic, Luis Guillermo Solís, was exempted from lack of integrity in the case of Chinese cement and that arrived at the wrong time for legislators to make objections.

Therefore, the legislators extended the term of the legislative forum by 30 days, this being the second extension granted.

According to Otto Roberto Vargas, president of the Commission, the final document was almost ready, when Erwen Masis, legislator of the Christian Social Unity Party (PUSC), and Mileidy Alvarado, from National Restoration, asked to add some elements. Then, this should be put to a vote, according to Vargas.

Despite this new delay, the legislator said they’ll release that report in the first fifteen days of December, with recommendations and petitions to other institutions.

During the last months, the legislators focused on investigating the procedural error, so that the document could reach the legislators at the end of May.
