uninterrupted service between San José and Cártago

The train service between San José and Cártago will be uninterrupted. It started on August 1st at 7:30 pm and it will end on Tuesday at noon.

This special schedule is due to the hundreds of pilgrims who are expected to use the train to go or come from the old metropolis.

The Instituto Costarricense de Ferrocarriles (INCOFER) is offering two straight journeys every half an hour, in both Cártago and Atlántico central stations.

Travels from San José will be non-stop services and travels from Cártago will make stops at the Colegio Federado de Ingenieros y Arquitectos, in U. Latina, in the UCR and then in El Atlántico, as a final stop.

User need to know that the train does not reach the Basílica de Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles and on August 2nd the service will only be offered in San José-Cártago route.

The fare is 550 colones.
