United Aircraft managed to land in Liberia airport

The United 737-800 aircraft on flight 1516 bound for Houston, Texas, United States, was successfully returned and landed at Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia.

Enio Cubillo, director of Civil Aviation, commented that the aircraft managed to land after a problem was reported in its left engine while flying over Nicaragua.

The plane had to return and burn fuel near Liberia, to be able to make a safe landing.

According to Cubillo, what remains now is to determine the causes of the emergency and that the airline reschedules the flight for the passengers.

About 172 people (passengers and crew) were traveling on the aircraft.
