Upala and Guanacaste won’t rest from the rains

The residents of Upala and Guanacaste will have to be prepared because the rains will not stop, according to a report from the National Meteorological Institute (IMN).

Some factors that were registered on Sunday morning like warm temperatures and the contribution of marine and mountain breezes generated the ideal conditions for the presence of rains and electrical storm in the Pacific and the North Zone.

According to the report signed by the meteorologist Rebeca Morera, the rains have been particularly strong in Upala and surrounding areas, where the amounts in the last hours reach 100 millimeters (mm); other points with rainfall are Bagaces and San Vito de Coto Brus with 25 mm, and Abangares with 11 mm.

According to the IMN, the week starts with a weakening in the trade winds and an increase in the humidity contained in the atmosphere, which together with the morning warmth are factors that will enhance clouds and evening rainfall. The rains can occur in the Central and South Pacific and in isolation in the Central Valley, the North Pacific, the North Zone and the Caribbean mountains.
