Upala’s families were evacuated due to Zapote river overflow

The fire department confirmed the evacuation of at least 9 families in Upala, due to the overflow of Zapote River on Wednesday Morning.

Leonel Jiménez, from the monitoring station, said that the first evacuation occurred at about 5:00 a.m. and that they managed to rescue a woman and a child who were inside a flooded house in the area of Pizote in San Pedro.

The other event was also reported at about 5:00 a.m. in Jácamo de Upala, Gran Parqueo.

At this moment the Fire Department is verifying the situation in the river.
