US Army aircraft surprised Costa Ricans

At least three helicopters from the United States army flew across Costa Rican sky on Wednesday morning, surprising many Costa Ricans who shared their pictures on social networks.

Enio Cubillo, director of Civil Aviation, said these aircraft do not have artillery and flew across Costa Rica on their way to Honduras, and confirmed that they have permission to fly over national sky.

They headed towards Honduras, with a stop in Liberia for fuel. We received information about these nonmilitary aircrafts,”

said Cubillo.

For an aircraft of this type to fly in Costa Rica, legislators have to issue a permit, as established by the Directorate of Civil Aviation of 2005.
