Venezuela accuses Costa Rica of “encouraging coup”

Once again, Venezuelan Foreign Affairs Minister Delcy Rodríguez attacked Costa Rica and the countries that adhered to the position of Pope Francisco on Monday, who called for a solution to prevent more violence in that country.

The position backed by Costa Rica was also supported by Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Paraguay and Uruguay.

Those governments, which have maintained a disapproving position regarding the actions of the Venezuelan government, have sought negotiated solutions and respect for human rights in a country with a serious humanitarian crises.

According to information from the EFE agency, at the request of the bishop of Rome, the Venezuelan opposition gathered in the Democratic Unity Table (MUD) responded that they are “more united than ever” in relation to the demand for political change in Venezuela; and indicated that the only dialogue this country will accept is that of the votes.

The South American country is experiencing a serious political and social crisis that has triggered violent social protests.
