Venezuelan chancellor came to Alvarado’s investiture and now attacks the government

Jorge Arreaza Montserrat, Venezuelan chancellor and former vice president of that country, harshly attacked the government of Costa Rica after Carlos Alvarado finally decided to support a lawsuit against the Maduro regime before the International Criminal Court (CPI) for crimes against humanity in that South American country.

Arreaza, who came to the transfer of powers in May, when Alvarado took office, lashed out and assured that the Costa Rican government is “subordinated” to the interests of the United States.

In addition, he added that this was a ‘tactic’ of the Costa Rican president to divert from the internal situation that Costa Rica is experiencing by virtue of the strike against the tax reform.

Given the inability demonstrated by the Costa Rican government to resolve its internal affairs and listen with humility to the workers on such a prolonged strike, President Alvarado decides to divert the attention of the public opinion of his country by attacking Venezuela,”

said Arreaza said through a series of tweets published this Wednesday.

The politician is married to Rosa Virginia Chávez Colmenares, daughter of late former president Hugo Chávez Frías (1999-2013).

Arreaza was the Venezuelan vice president between April 2013 and January 2016, during the Chávez administration. He also held other positions, such as Minister of Science and Technology and Minister of Ecological Mining.

We have never seen a Costa Rican government that in such a short time subordinates to the orders of a government that hates the Central American peoples like Donald Trump’s, and loses its popularity so quickly with policies against the most humble,”

said the diplomat, in another tweet.

It is not the first time Arreaza has attacked Costa Rica, since he did it repeatedly during the Solís Rivera administration (2014-2018).
