Venezuelans in Costa Rica ask the government to end diplomatic relations with Maduro

A group of young Venezuelans living in the country asked the government of Costa Rica to end diplomatic relations with the Nicolás Maduro regime.

Bárbara Suárez, one of the South Americans present this afternoon in the former presidents’ lounge in Congress, made the request to the government authorities.

Roberto Blanco asked President Carlos Alvarado and Foreign Minister Manuel Ventura to expel diplomatic officials from the illegitimate government, who were classified as corrupt.

Similarly, they requested that the country formally file complaints for crimes against humanity before the International Criminal Court. Chancellor Ventura was one of the three experts who presented a report at the request of the Organization of American States (OAS) after an investigation in Venezuela, where it was confirmed that there were crimes against humanity on the part of the regime.

The request was made in the Legislative Assembly, after the approval of a motion of order, where 43 legislators decided the government won’t recognize the new mandate of Maduro.

The motion also requests the government to prevent high officials of that regime to come to Costa Rica.

Venezuelans in the country said that from Thursday, Nicolás Maduro is a usurper in power, because his appointment was made in a dubious way, without the participation of the opposition.

It is estimated that three million Venezuelans have left that nation, as a result of the economic, social and humanitarian crisis they face in the South American country and of these, 20 thousand are in Costa Rica.
